Design your dream student building and win tickets to Kuopiorock!
Kuopas is celebrating its 50th anniversary and we want to hear your vision for the future of student housing. Take part in our competition by designing your dream student building and you could win a 3-day ticket to Kuopiorock!
The theme is: “What would the perfect student building in future Kuopio look like?”
Tell us your vision! What kind of apartments, shared spaces, and services will future students need? How could a building support students’ everyday life, sense of community, and well-being?
You can describe your concept freely or use the questions below to guide your plan:
- Where in Kuopio would the building be located?
- How many apartments would it include?
- What would the apartments be like (e.g. equipment, materials, size)?
- What types of shared spaces would the building offer?
- What new services or functions could it include?
- How would the building or its services support students’ daily life and well-being?
- What would make this particular student building unique?

📝 Your answer should be around 200–500 words. You may include drawings or images to support your concept.
🎉 The competition is open to everyone, you don’t have to be a Kuopas tenant to participate.

📅 The deadline is 29ᵗʰ June, 2025.
A jury from Kuopas will select the five best ideas.

Why this competition?
As part of our 50th anniversary year, Kuopas wants to highlight student voices, community living, and the development of student housing. Through this competition, students get the chance to imagine what the next 50 years of student living in Kuopio might look like.
