Savilahti apartment applications have opened
Savilahti housing applications are now open – first offers in July
Kuopas is completing a new student housing complex in the Savilahti campus area. The project consists of two buildings: a 12-storey Kampus Masto with 128 apartments, and a lower L-shaped Kampus Ankkuri with 137 apartments, to be completed around the turn of the year. In total, 265 new student homes will be available right next to the city’s universities and schools.
Applications for Kampus Masto are now open. Before submitting your application, we recommend reading the Kuopas Applying Quick Guide, which provides clear instructions for the application process and important details about the selection criteria. Applications should be submitted via the Kuopas website, as explained in the guide. Tenant selections are made according to Kuopas’ general selection criteria, and the process follows Varke’s rules, which take into account the applicant’s income, assets, and housing need. Kuopas does not use a queue or waiting list system, so the timing of your application does not affect the outcome.
Apartment offers will be sent out starting from the first week of July. Apartments are offered equally based on application details. However, we will do our best to consider any floor preferences, which can be mentioned in the additional information section at the end of the application.
If you have already applied for a studio in another location and now wish to apply for Kampus Masto, please submit a new application.
Modern and sustainable living in a prime location
The Savilahti buildings are energy-efficient A-class passive houses that utilize solar power. All apartments include a private kitchen and bathroom. Artificial intelligence is used in building technology to control the heating of apartments and bathrooms, in order to improve energy efficiency and tenants’ living conditions. Tenants also have access to shared laundry, sauna, lounge and study spaces. The apartments do not have washing machine or dishwasher connections: Laundry is handled in a modern, electronically bookable laundry room. The design takes into account both student privacy and community, which is reflected in the layout and shared areas. Each floor of Kampus Masto includes spacious shared balconies with stunning views over Lake Kallavesi. There are no car parking spaces in the Savilahti housing location, but cyclists are especially well accommodated with excellent bike storage and maintenance facilities.
The apartments of Kampus Masto range from 24 to 36 m², with rents between €372–526, or approximately €15/m².
Green courtyards, excellent cycling facilities and student-friendly commercial spaces make Savilahti a modern and vibrant campus living environment.
