Matomo

We use the Matomo tool for web analytics. Statistical data is collected, for example, from,

– how many users there are on the site
– which devices have been used to access the site
– the web address from which users have accessed the site
– which individual pages users have visited. On the Matomo analytics platform, data is collected anonymously and is not attributed to individuals. The data is anonymised as required by the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR): the last two segments of IP addresses are removed, and location data is only examined at a general level.

As the user data is anonymised, it can no longer be used as personal data and cannot be linked to a specific person, even when combined with other data. Identification is thus irreversibly prevented. Users cannot be identified by IP or location. Statistical data collected on the Matomo analytics platform will never be combined with data from which a user can be identified. The cookies on the Matomo analytics platform are so-called first-party cookies, i.e. the data is owned by Kuopio Student Housing Company and can only be used by Kuopio Student Housing Company. The data is stored in a system managed by Kuopio Student Housing Company.

Leadoo

We use Leadoo’s tracking service to follow what users are doing on the site and combine this behavioral data with other data we can gather from e.g. chat interactions. Leadoo uses etag tracking in order to hook together the same users behavior over several sessions – in practice this works similarly to cookie based tracking. Leadoo works as the Processor and we work as the Controller for the data in terms of GDPR. You can stop the tracking by emptying your browser’s cache after the visit.
